Very charming home in beautilful Omena. Peaceful, quiet, vintage farmhouse located on a beautiful parcel overlooking apple and cherry orchards. 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. A relaxing walk to West Grand Traverse Bay where you can enjoy a sandy beach & park for the kids. Walk to Knot Just a Bar, Tamarack Art Gallery, and an old fashioned General Store. 2 level home, on quiet side street. Sleeps 10.

One bedroom on main floor has 1 King. Three bedrooms upstairs have 1 Queen, 1 Queen, and 2 Twins. 1 Futon in living room. Spacious living room & dining room. Full kitchen stocked well with dishwasher. Washer/dryer. Satelite TV/DVD/VCR. WiFi. Big deck so you can kick back and enjoy restful quiet relaxation under clear blue skies or dazzling starry nights. Charcoal grill and outdoor games. This area is a perfect calming retreat to read, slow down, relax, daydream. Easy drives to Northport or Suttons Bay and about 30 minutes to Traverse City.

Your wel-mannered pet is welcome. No air conditioning. No smoking. Linens are provided. Short stays are available during any season- ask us! Summer 3 night minimum

Perfect house for a small group of adults. Nice location for a fall wine tour. The large dining room table was great for a nice home made dinner and the kitchen was very nice for cooking with efficient supplies. The only thing we could have used was a couple more kitchen towels or rags. The updated bathrooms were gorgeous, house was wonderfully decorated. We had a really great stay!

Much larger than we thought! The downstairs had a full size couch that pulled out & a loveseat that pulled out into a twin, also a huge futon! Pleasantly surprised. The kitchen was great. However the water pressure left much to be desired

Beautiful home. Only down side was the tiny public beach access in Omena and mechanical noise from the working farm next door. But we loved it!

In general the property was acceptable and in a pleasant location. The major complaint was that the interior really needed a deep cleaning.The place was dusty and musty. The carpets and livingroom furniture were in need of serious cleaning. An overall
dusting and interior scrubing would be in order. After we did some of our own cleaning, it was much more acceptable. We would suggest that the owners hire a proffessional to clean the living room furniture.

I would agree with the above comments and reviews (plenty of space, clean, fully stocked kitchen, etc) but with the following exceptions: (1) For vacationers not familiar with the upper Michigan vacation spots: There is no air conditioning or widow units
in this house (along with probably most of the houses up there). We have a couple of hot nights where opening the window and turning on a floor fan didn't offer much relief. I know its because you usually don't need them, but just FYI. (2) The term "high power
internet" (and it is wireless) is very misleading. I believe it is satellite access so its extremely slow, and not working at times. I know this is suppose to be a getaway, but if the only way you got vacation time from work is if you said you could work remotely
if needed, your not going to and your boss will be MAD. (3)I know its not the property fault, but the Omena "beach" access is quite a walk (about 3/4 mile) down the street (down a hill, but you have to walk up it back) to a very small beach area, and if you're
trying to drag beach bags and toys,it seems longer. The beach is not bad if you'er by yourselves but 2 times we tried to use it, there were parties and school trips going on and it was very crowed. The drive to Suttons Point is worth it. (4) The bedroom with
the 2 twins is very small/cramped. It's ok for 2 younger kids, but if you try to put two teenagers in there, they probably won't be happy. A couple of extra pluses: -There is alot of extra games, books, cards,etc in case you forgot something. Very nice. -Dining
table is HUGE. Had no problem setting up card or board games and leaving them there until we were finished, and had room to eat. -Never were bored(for adults). Just jump on Highway 22 and head north. Alot of great small cities. -Jet ski in Traverse City (in
Grand Traverse Bay) is a MUST. My 14 and 16 year old will remember it for the rest of their lives. -If you are arriving on Su

  We know the lack of a/c can be an issue. We will be adding larger fans for 2012. Some forms of internet are not offered in all areas and we simply are stuck with what is available in the area. We understand the need for internet speed but unless they cut the trees down or come up with a new way to get access the slow way is the only way for now. Thanks for your patience.

We had lots of room. Everybody had fun visiting, eating, drinking on the big deck. Cousins got together, but still had lots of privacy. Kitchen packed with everything you need for big meals.

The property was perfectly suited for my family, which consisted of three couples my two nephews, and my aging dog. The four bedrooms allowed privacy and plenty of space. It was great to have a first floor bedroom that my dog could access without stairs.

The property was an easy car trip to all the sights and a 10-15 minute walk to the Omena Public Beach. It was very private. The dog and boys could run throughout the grounds.

The only downsides had nothing to do with the property, but with the reservation service. While very polite, the website allowed us to reserve another property that we really liked only to be told a day later that they would not rent it for less than a week. They apologized for the confusion that the website causes, but this is still a problem that should be corrected. We strongly considered taking our business elsewhere. The only other problem was that we were given the wrong lockbox code and could not access the property. We had to call to get the proper code, but the cell phone reception at the property is spotty and it took several calls to get the right information.

On balance, a great property that made for a fun vacation. It was clean, spacious, and fun.

All six of the adults enjoyed it. The other three were children under two, so no verbal comments. The conveniences, especially the DVD player, worked out well especially in the early mornings. We all decided we'd like to do it again but aren't sure whether we'll seek something directly on the water.
